Actually, the Apostles’ Creed is not considered to be the truth, rather it is founded in the truth. And what truth is that? For the Christian, the only truth is the Bible, God’s Word. The Westminster Shorter Catechism, another creed, states it in this way:

The Word of God, which is contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the ONLY rule to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him [God].

So, Scripture is the ONLY truth. A creed attempts to summarize what the truth of the Bible is.

En realidad, el Credo de los Apóstoles no se considera la verdad, sino que se basa en la verdad. ¿Y qué verdad es esa? Para el cristiano, la única verdad es la Biblia, la Palabra de Dios. El Catecismo Menor de Westminster, otro credo, lo establece de esta manera:

La Palabra de Dios, que está contenida en las Escrituras del Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento, es la ÚNICA regla para indicarnos cómo podemos glorificarlo y disfrutarlo [Dios].

Entonces, la Escritura es la ÚNICA verdad. Un credo intenta resumir cuál es la verdad de la Biblia.
