God (Part 9)

“God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning — the sixth day.” – Genesis 1:31

The waves that crash across the sandy shoreline, trees that tower toward the sun, painted fluffy clouds that float in the sky — all these are part of God’s creation. In Genesis, God called His creation good and gave Adam the task of working and caring for the Earth.

The Earth is different now from how it was before suffering entered the world when Adam and Eve committed the first sin. Dangers can now be found in nature. Natural disasters can destroy entire cities and ways of life. Animals can be harmful or even deadly if people are not aware of what is going on around them.

People must face hardships and take risks in the natural world. However, this does not mean God’s creation does not have purpose and value. These aspects of creation point toward the brokenness in the world that was created by sin and the need for Jesus.

Reflection: When you see brokenness, do you despair or do you look to Jesus?

Dios (Parte 9)

“Dios vio todo lo que había hecho, y era muy bueno. Y fue la tarde y la mañana el día sexto”. – Génesis 1:31

Las olas que rompen en la costa arenosa, los árboles que se elevan hacia el sol, las nubes esponjosas pintadas que flotan en el cielo: todo esto es parte de la creación de Dios. En Génesis, Dios llamó buena a Su creación y le dio a Adán la tarea de trabajar y cuidar la Tierra.

La Tierra es diferente ahora de cómo era antes de que el sufrimiento entrara en el mundo cuando Adán y Eva cometieron el primer pecado. Ahora se pueden encontrar peligros en la naturaleza. Los desastres naturales pueden destruir ciudades enteras y formas de vida. Los animales pueden ser dañinos o incluso mortales si las personas no son conscientes de lo que sucede a su alrededor.

Las personas deben enfrentar dificultades y asumir riesgos en el mundo natural. Sin embargo, esto no significa que la creación de Dios no tenga propósito ni valor. Estos aspectos de la creación apuntan hacia el quebrantamiento en el mundo que fue creado por el pecado y la necesidad de Jesús.

Reflexión: Cuando ves quebrantamiento, ¿te desesperas o miras a Jesús?
