God (Part 5)

Scripture describes the Father as having power to do anything he wills to do. And it demonstrates this unlimited power in many different ways. It speaks of him as having the power to create the universe and to destroy it. It says that he has power to control the weather, to defeat his enemies in battle, to rule and to control human governments, to perform mighty miracles, and to save his people.

Listen to how the prophet Jeremiah described the Lord in Jeremiah 10:10-16:

The Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath... God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses... He is the Maker of all things, including Israel, the tribe of his inheritance — the Lord Almighty is his name (Jeremiah 10:10-16).

God ultimately controls every aspect of the created world. He has the power to do whatever he pleases. In Isaiah 46:10-11, the Lord himself summarized his power this way:

My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please … What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do (Isaiah 46:10-11).

Dios (Parte 5)

Las Escrituras describen al Padre con poder para hacer cualquier cosa que Él quiera hacer. Y demuestra este poder ilimitado de muchas maneras diferentes. Habla de él como si tuviera el poder de crear el universo y de destruirlo. Dice que tiene poder para controlar el clima, para derrotar a sus enemigos en la batalla, para gobernar y controlar gobiernos humanos, para realizar poderosos milagros y para salvar a su pueblo.

Escuche cómo el profeta Jeremías describió al Señor en Jeremías 10:10-16:

El Señor es el Dios verdadero; él es el Dios vivo, el Rey eterno. Cuando se enoja, la tierra tiembla; las naciones no pueden soportar su ira... Dios hizo la tierra con su poder; fundó el mundo con su sabiduría y extendió los cielos con su entendimiento. Cuando él truena, las aguas en los cielos rugen; él hace subir las nubes de los confines de la tierra. Envía relámpagos con la lluvia y saca el viento de sus depósitos... Él es el Hacedor de todas las cosas, incluso de Israel, la tribu de su heredad: el Señor Todopoderoso es su nombre (Jeremías 10:10-16).

Dios finalmente controla cada aspecto del mundo creado. Tiene el poder de hacer lo que le plazca. En Isaías 46:10-11, el Señor mismo resumió su poder de esta manera:

Mi propósito se mantendrá, y haré todo lo que me plazca… Lo que he dicho, eso haré; lo que tengo planeado, eso haré (Isaías 46:10-11).
