God (Part 2)

"Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, 'Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.' And he said to them, 'When you pray, say: Father.' "

Luke 11:1-2.

Many people, when they think of the word “father”, they come up with different definitions – many of them are very negative, and that is because of a reality – earthly fathers are sinners.

Yet Jesus tells us to pray: ‘Father.’ Why? Because in the Israelite home, the father’s role in the family was a pivotal one. God called upon the father to be the leader and protector for the family, to give an example of God’s love by being loving towards the children’s mother. God also called on him to be strong in the faith, and to bring the children up knowing right from wrong. God called the father to be the spiritual leader.

So yes, even today our earthly fathers are to be the spiritual leaders of the family. But our earthly fathers are sinners, and so they fail us in many ways. Some do so in only minor ways, while others fail to protect and provide for their children in major ways. But our Father is not like a human father. Our Father in heaven CANNOT fail us. He LOVES His children PERFECTLY, and we can be assured that He will ALWAYS PROTECT AND PROVIDE FOR US PERFECTLY.

Go before God OUR FATHER in prayer today, knowing that He loves us in Christ and will meet our needs. He is our Father. When we say, “I believe in God the Father”, we are believing in a kind of father who loves us perfectly, always protects us perfectly and always provides for us perfectly. We are believing in a God who SAVES us through Jesus Christ!

Reflection: As a human father (and mother), are you taking your call to be the spiritual leader of your home with utmost seriousness? Is God the FATHER of your home?

11 Creo en Dios Padre

Dios (Parte 2)

“Un día estaba Jesús orando en cierto lugar. Cuando terminó, le dijo uno de sus discípulos: —Señor, enséñanos a orar, así como Juan enseñó a sus discípulos. Él les dijo: —Cuando oren, digan: “Padre,' "

Lucas 11:1-2.

Muchas personas, cuando piensan en la palabra “padre”, se les ocurren diferentes definiciones, muchas de ellas muy negativas, y eso es por una realidad, los padres terrenales son pecadores.

Sin embargo, Jesús nos dice que oremos: ‘Padre’. ¿Por qué? Porque en el hogar israelita, el papel del padre en la familia era fundamental. Dios llamó al padre a ser el líder y protector de la familia, para dar ejemplo del amor de Dios siendo amoroso con la madre de los hijos. Dios también lo llamó a ser fuerte en la fe, ya criar a los niños sabiendo el bien del mal. Dios llamó al padre para ser el líder espiritual.

Así que sí, aún hoy nuestros padres terrenales deben ser los líderes espirituales de la familia. Pero nuestros padres terrenales son pecadores, y por eso nos fallan de muchas maneras. Algunos lo hacen solo de manera menor, mientras que otros no protegen ni proveen a sus hijos de manera importante. Pero nuestro Padre no es como un padre humano. Nuestro Padre que está en los cielos NO PUEDE fallarnos. Él AMA a Sus hijos PERFECTAMENTE, y podemos estar seguros de que SIEMPRE NOS PROTEGERÁ Y PROVEERÁ PERFECTAMENTE.

Vaya ante Dios NUESTRO PADRE en oración hoy, sabiendo que Él nos ama en Cristo y suplirá nuestras necesidades. Él es nuestro Padre. Cuando decimos: “Creo en Dios Padre”, estamos creyendo en un tipo de padre que nos ama perfectamente, siempre nos protege perfectamente y siempre nos provee perfectamente. ¡Estamos creyendo en un Dios que nos SALVA a través de Jesucristo!

Reflexión: Como padre (y madre) humano, ¿estás tomando tu llamado para ser el líder espiritual de tu hogar con la mayor seriedad? ¿Es Dios el PADRE de tu hogar?
