Jesus Is Divine (Part 4)

This emphasis on Jesus as the divine and eternal Son of God is reflected in the doctrine of the Trinity, which states that:

God has three persons, but only one essence.

Note the structure of the Apostles’ Creed. It is divided into three parts.

I believe in God….

I believe in Jesus….

I believe in the Holy Spirit….

The Apostles’ Creed follows a TRINITARIAN formula. This trinitarian formula is found in other parts of the Bible. One which most of you are familiar with is Matthew 28:18-20. It is the Great Commission.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

And the trinitarian formula also shows up at the end of Paul’s letter to the Corinthian Church.

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all,” (2 Corinthians 13:14).

Other verses that follow the trinitarian formula include 1 Peter 2:1-2, Hebrews 9:14, Acts 20:28, Ephesians 3:14-17, and Jude 20-21.

The Bible does not use the word “trinity”; however, it does clearly indicate that God has three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

The early church did not dispute the truth of the trinity; it did not dispute the divinity of Jesus the Son.

Otros versículos que siguen la fórmula trinitaria son 1 Pedro 2:1-2, Hebreos 9:14, Hechos 20:28, Efesios 3:14-17 y Judas 20-21.

La Biblia no utiliza la palabra "trinidad"; sin embargo, indica claramente que Dios tiene tres personas: Dios Padre, Dios Hijo y Dios Espíritu Santo.

La iglesia primitiva no discutió la verdad de la trinidad; no discutió la divinidad de Jesús el Hijo.
